2 Catholicism: Background history
Catholicism is the faith, practice, and church order of the Roman Catholic Church, and it’s history dates back into around years ago. It has been practiced all around the world, and is also the largest religious denomination (branch of Christian church). (“Catholicism”) Catholicism: Background history

3 The religion started because they wanted Ali to have power still and they were for as a leader of Islamic State (cousin and son-in- law of Muhammad, the Prophet of Islam). This whole movement was originally a political movement all because of Muhammad's death ("Shiites.“) Altogether they are about only 10-15% of all Muslims they are common in Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, India, and Pakistan however these are Twelve Imam Shiites, there is also Zaydis in Yemen, and Ismailis in India, Pakistan, Syria, and Yemen ("Shiites.“). Altogether there are 120 million Shiites in the world ("Iran: Religious Life.") Shiites (Shia)

4 The Sunni are the largest branch in Islam (“The Sunni-Shia Divide”).
There are the sects of the Sunni branch: Hanafi, Shafii, Hanbali and the Maliki (“The Sunni-Shia Divide”). The Sunni elected Abu Bakr, a close friend of Muhammad, to be Caliph (“Islam: Sunni Sect”). The Sunni (Sunnah)

5 Shiites in Algeria and North Africa
Since this is such a small religion there is really no exact number of Shiites in Algeria ("Shiites.“) Since Shiites started in North Africa its isn’t just used people are also Arab And later the Iran and Turkey developed this culture. (Amira Al Hussaini Algeria: The Great Libyan Shia Plan) However this does not mean that North Africa is 100% Arabo-Shia (Amira Al Hussaini Algeria: The Great Libyan Shia Plan) Shiites in Algeria and North Africa

6 After Muhammed died Abu Bakr became the new successor caliph, most agreed with his concept and became Sunnis. However others disagreed and wanted it to be given to Ali Muhammed’s bloodline. This caused the Shiites to arise. "The major difference is that for Shi`is he has already been here, and will return from hiding; for Sunnis he has yet to emerge into history: a comeback v. a coming out, if you will.“ (HNN Staff “What Is the Difference Between Sunni and Shiite Muslims--and Why Does It Matter?”) Differences

7 Islam is the state religion of Algeria, 99% of the population is Muslim (“Algeria-Religions”).
