Opening a PowerPoint Go to “start” Programs Microsoft Office Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007

Go to “Design” and then “Slide Orientation…”

To Start Your Poster, click “Design” and then select a Background

To change your color scheme, click “Design” and then choose a built in color scheme…

To insert a picture, go to “Insert” and choose “Clip Art”

If you want to insert from a file you found online, click “Insert” and then “Picture”

To Insert a Textbox, go to “Insert.” Then select “Text Box.” Click and drag to create the textbox then just start typing…

To create WordArt, select “Insert.” Then select “WordArt.”

Select the style of WordArt and start typing….

When you have four arrows pointing north, south, east and west, you can click and drag your entire image or textbox anyplace you like… When you have two arrows pointing in opposite directions, you can resize your image…

To resize your text, highlight it, and go to the dropdown menu. The larger the number, the larger your text…

P.S. Some Tips To Creating a Good Poster Don’t Have a Background that is too busy Don’t make your font too small Choose easy-to-read font Don’t write over Pictures Don’t use color combinations such as green and red
