2. Props Props in films can be thought of as unthoughtful objects which are just placed in for something more to see however, the props used in media products i.e. films and trailers have been thought out carefully and are used to show meaning and additional information about characters, locations and events. Example: Film: ‘’Paranormal Activity’’: In the film, common house hold items are used i.e. kitchen cupboards slapping open – This was affective as the action which took place was unusual which made it scary and creepy as we are not used to cupboards opening on there own

3. A satchel Character – Abhi will be wearing a satchel when she is running through the woods To show she is carrying objects= college work as she is young To show her work ethic: That she is hardworking as she looks after her college work in her bag and remembers to bring her work to college with her

4. Twig Running through the woods scene: Whilst Abhi is running, she steps on a twig (which we will purposely put there for her to step on) When we edit, we will put this into slow motion This will cause tension i.e. make our target audience focused and interested on the shot and wonder what will happen next, as this part of the scene will be very silent, and therefore the snap of the twig is the only sound which is heard This shows that the snap is a special and important feature which the audience should take into consideration and think about why we would have focused on this event

5. Suitcase Mother and daughter say goodbye scene: Amelia will have a suitcase next to her while she hugs Abhi goodbye Make’s the event of Amelia going on holiday more realistic to the audience, showing she is actually packed ready to leave Amelia is all packed to go shows Abhi really is going to be lonely and all she will have is herself

6. Personal Diary The diary is not just a diary, it is a personal diary which makes the fact that Abhi is writing about what she is currently going through in here signifies how much these creepy events are affecting her The dairy is used for Abhi to write her personal thoughts in, which she uses to write the words ‘why?’ This leaves the audience questionable and wondering exactly what she is writing about which makes them want to watch the rest of the film to find out

7. iPhone The iPhone is used when Abhi messages her friends to come round to her house for a party whilst her mother is away The iPhone shows that Abhi is quite a cool person at college as she has the latest technology The message will show ‘’Party @ mine’’ Abhi has a touchable and new made phone which shows the era of when this film is set = twenty first century

8. Fizzy pop and plastic cups Fizzy pop and plastic cups will appear in the party scene Will make the party realistic to the audience watching The younger generation stereotypically enjoy drinking fizzy pop

9. Television Party scene: The lights and music will go down in the party and the TV will turn on and fuzz and then show the news and Tamworth castle hauntings will appear on TV This is because Abhi lives 5 minutes away from Tamworth castle Abhi has a LCD television which shows the era of when this film is set = twenty first century
