7 Answering Surprised / Not Surprised Source Questions. How to answer the question... This type of question requires you to actually say ‘I am surprised’ and/or ‘I am not surprised’. It may sound silly but you must express this within your answer, otherwise it seriously can limit the mark you get on the question. The best way to answer this question is to always use the source to explain why you ARE SURPRISED and why you ARE NOT SURPRISED. Always try to write a balanced answer for this type of question.

10 Answering source questions How useful? To show usefulness say what it tells you and use your own knowledge to show how it is limited. Use your own background (contextual) knowledge to show how the source is limited or what it does not tell you. Ensure you discuss the ways the source(s) are useful and limited.
