Each week, campers jump into action, participating in exciting sports programs, exploring nature, becoming involved in performing and creative arts, playing a part in group activities, and attending special events. Our campers have the opportunity to expand their horizons during the summer, embarking on new adventures, and having fun! Our exceptional program and dedicated staff create an environment that forges lifelong friendships among our campers. We create a summer experience that is unforgettable! It all starts with our outstanding camp counselors. A camp is only as good as its staff, and we are extremely proud of ours. Talent, creativity, love of children, leadership and devotion make our camp counselors the heart and soul of the program. We take our camp programs seriously and begin our summer with intensive staff training and orientation. Camp counselors and specialists are doing exactly what they enjoy most: spending a summer inspiring campers to explore, reach for new heights, and expand their horizons. Camp at Chesterbrook Academy gives you choices. Camp includes five days of activities, from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm. You can choose to add extended hours and specialty camps to your menu of summer fun. We offer a range of outdoor activities, plus indoor activities conducted in our fully air conditioned facility. Our specialty camps are optional programs, operating during regular camp hours, which provide even more choices for unique and exciting adventures. Klutz: Designed for Doing, NOT Just Reading Klutz has it all: drawing, bead art, fairies, jewelry, magic, science and more. Klutz books and activities are perfect for exploring new creative interests and for expanding on old favorites. Most activities come in multiple themes to appeal to discerning creative minds. 5. Activity Blocks BLOCK 2 Drama-The Musical Campers learn basic knowledge of acting techniques and stage movement to develop their imagination, creativity and confidence. BLOCK 3 Iron “Camp” Chef Campers will practice a variety of kitchen skills and use their creativity, while getting messy, and eating delicious foods! BLOCK 4 Science Gurus Practical and fun experimentation and project building send campers home with enthusiasm and the knowledge required to take the sciences further. BLOCK 5 Urban Designers Draw. Decorate. Design. Campers will explore a multitude of design challenges, including interior design, architectural design and fashion design. Each week campers will engage in unique activity blocks that offer relevant, meaningful experiences that allow them to construct new knowledge while connecting to previous knowledge. Activities provide an opportunity for campers to engage, explore and make sense of the natural world through inquiry and project-based learning. BLOCK 6 Color Wars Campers are divided into teams, each of which is assigned a color. The teams compete against each other in challenges and events to earn points. BLOCK 7 Lego-Inspired Engineering Dream it. Build it. Wreck it. Repeat! Campers build elaborate objects, structures and vehicles, while they explore fundamental principles of engineering and physics. BLOCK 8 Citizenship & Friendship Brigade Campers will find creative ways to give back, while learning about how they can make a difference, strengthening their character and friendships along the way. BLOCK 9 Games Galore Come be part of a summer camp that continues to emphasize a vast exposure to a variety of sports and games. BLOCK 10 Artist Studio Draw it! Paint it! Sculpt it! There is no right or wrong when it comes to making art. Use your creativity to express your inner artist. Come Be GREAT! BLOCK 1 Photography: A portable studio Campers are immersed in the art and craft of still photography, and are introduced to the tools necessary to capture great images and refine them through digital imaging. 6. Specialty Camps Art Class The students will participate in various activities that expose them to different artists while using different mediums. This class would be taught by Ms. Kathy, who has taught various art classes in the past. This class will be available for an additional fee. Library Club Once a week the students will walk over to the library, and spend a few hours looking at books, reading to their friends, and exploring the various forms of technology the library has to offer. This class will be held weekly and is free of charge. Cooking Club During our cooking class, the students would be able to spend time in the kitchen with Chef Enriquez. In this class the students would be able to cook and bake various food items while learning about safety in the kitchen and healthy foods. This class will be held once a week and students may join for an additional charge. Soccer Shots Soccer Shots is our soccer program that will host a summer session for all school age students. Soccer Shots Premier focuses on individual skill, fitness and sportsmanship, providing an opportunity for children to be challenged through fun games and team interaction. The deposit will be applied to your campers final week of camp.
