All plants Over two thirds of the world’s plant species are in the Tropical rainforest. Most of the world’s oxygen supply comes from the tropical rainforest also. Plants in the tropical rainforest are so interesting and are so beautiful to look at with their bright colors or green shades.

Epiphyte Epiphyte can be found almost anywhere in the Tropical Rainforest. It grows on top of tree trunks. It is beautiful colors. It normally grows on other plants for support.

Bromeliads Bromeliads are related to the pineapple family.
They have thick leaves shaped like bowls to catch water. They can hold gallons of water and are like an ecosystem in them self's. Animals live in them.

Saprophytes Saprophytes act as the tropical rainforests decomposers.
Some Saprophytes are so small that they cannot by seen with the naked eye.

Buttress roots The soil is very week so trees have to have short roots. Some very tall trees have developed additional support by growing Buttress roots. Buttress roots are roots that grow out of the base of the trunk and can grow up to 15 feet above the ground.
