Grammar The infinitive and the –ing form after verbs Verbs + infinitive ( to do ) forget learn need Verbs + -ing form ( doing ) stop practise Verbs +infinitive or –ing form hate love start 1.After some verbs, e.g., forget, learn, need, decide,want, hope we use the infinitive of another verb: I learned to play the guitar in the holidays. 2.After some verbs, e.g., stop, practise, enjoy, give up mind, miss, keep, finish, we use the –ing form: I stopped playing table tennis because it was getting dark. 3.After other verbs, e.g., hate, love, start, we can use the infinitive or – ing form: I started playing at nine o’clock. or I started to play at nine o’clock.

everyone,every one 的区别 everyone/every one 两个词都表示 “ 人 ” 、 “ 大家都 ” 的意思。 Everyone 只可以用来指人,不可以用 of 短语作定语。 Every one 除了可以指人外,还可以用来指物,可以用 of 短 语作定语。 即是可以说: Every one of the girls likes the teacher. 就不可以说: Everyone of the girls likes the teacher 。
