Loggerhead sea turtle The adult loggerhead sea turtle weighs approximately 135 kg (300 lb) The average loggerhead measures around 90 cm (35 in) The loggerhead sea turtle is an omnivore it eats small fish also seaweed/ sea grasses
4
Where in the world is your species found
5
Why is the Sea Turtle endangered Loggerheads often get hit by boats Sea turtles cant go in their shell so bigger predators often eat them because they cant hide and all their limbs are exposed When they hatch birds/other predators feed on them before they get to the ocean. Not many turtles make it to be an adult Longline hooks and in fishing gillnets
6
When will they become extinct No one really know since the ocean is so big they cant count all the ones out in the wild. But they think it wont be long before they are all the way gone
7
How can YOU help? You can donate money to the WWF towards sea turtle funds
8
How successful are peoples efforts? WWF aims to reduce turtle bycatch by working with fisheries to switch to more turtle-friendly fishing hooks (“circle” hooks) and advocates for the use of devices that exclude turtles from nets.
