How do you think people measured time before clocks were invented? Who can tell us a fact about time that they already know?

17 What activities do you think you could complete in less than a minute?
You are going to try to estimate a minute: when you hear “Go!” close your eyes and sit quietly when you think one minute has passed, put up your hand.

18 Group Work Time yourselves completing a variety of activities and record the results. Find out time facts: how many days are there in a week, seconds in a minute, years in a century, days in a leap year, years in a decade, etc? Find out how old you are in years, then in months, then in weeks. Can you work out how old you are in hours?
