3. School attendance She received much of her primary education in the Barbadian school system. She had stressed on the traditional British of reading, writing, and history. She attended New York public schools, she was able to compete in the early white classrooms. She also attended in the girls’ high school in Bedford Stuyvesant. She graduated from Brooklyn college in 1946.

4. Why famous? She was famous because she was the first African American woman in the us congress. She soon became famous for her candid and strongly viewpoints.

5. Her death She died because she had too many strokes. She was 80 years old when she died. 
