3. What jobs did he do? His first job was after school at the woollen mills Wellington – Apprenticeship – Carpentry 3 yrs Oamaru – Apprenticeship 18mths for de Geest Then self employed builder

4. Did he do different jobs or stay with the same? No he did different jobs 30 yrs in the building industry 14 yrs Pukeuri freezing works

5. What was the most amazing invention of his lifetime? The Concrete Pump made life easier in his work industry. As it was able to pump concrete to two storey buildings.

6. What was his best memory? Scariest Memory? »Best Memory In his working life being self employed builder. »Scariest Memory -Pushed a wheel barrow over the foundation and fell over the wheel barrow.

7. What were the supermarkets like? One grocery store and were spread out around the town. IGA and the 4 square were the stores.

8. Cars * Most families didn’t have a car. But Grandad did.

9. TVs No TV until he was 11 or 12. he and his brother would go down to the TV store and watch TV in the window.
