2. Understand the game  Read the rulebook, understanding it is key.  Even if you think there would be a rule against a certain strategy, there might not be.  Team 469 shows a good example of this.

3. Strategy Dictates Design  Think of the best possible strategy.  In 2010 Las Guerrillas dominated the game by putting strategy first.

4. A bigger bot isn’t always better.  Nor is a more complicated one.

5. Specialization vs God Bot  A god bot is something you should always shoot for unless you could score more points and be more effective dedicating your robot to one thing.

6. Offensive vs Defensive  2015 was a non offensive game, but 2016 will be different.  Bumpers will be a requirement this year.
