Guideline # 1 Be in your assigned seat and working on the assigned bell work when the tardy bell rings.

Daily Bell Work

Guideline # 2 Bring ALL books and materials to class and take them with you when you leave.

Guideline # 3 Follow directions the first time they are given.

Guideline # 4 Treat each person in this room with respect and dignity.

Guideline # 5 Follow all procedures and policies in the CCHS and Christian County Schools handbooks.

Following Guidelines will result in… Verbal acknowledgement A stress-free learning environment A pleasant and orderly classroom atmosphere

Not Following Guidelines will result in… 1 st –Warning and documentation 2 nd –Action Plan and Parental Involvement 3 rd –Disciplinary Referral

Mrs. Reed’s Action Plan 1. What’s the problem? 2. What’s causing the problem? (Please list the factors) 3. What plan will you use to solve the problem? Sign and date and get parent signature

Severe Clause Any student who uses profanity against someone, fights, damages school property, (this includes the property of the teacher and other students), or is disrespectful (as defined by the teacher), and any other safety issue will be sent to ICE and will be written up IMMEDIATELY.

Entering the Room Please enter quietly Have a seat in your assigned desk Take out your materials Review the agenda Begin Bell Work assignment

When you are tardy…. Enter quietly Excused: Place excuse in the basket on my desk Unexcused: Sign tardy log on the clipboard Have a seat and take out your materials

Getting Your Attention I will… Stand in front of the class Wait for everyone to be quiet Begin speaking

Finish Classwork Early What do I do next?

Activities Work on unfinished English assignments. Read your “Choice” novel Review your vocabulary words Start working on tonight’s homework Work on one of the Bingo writings

After an Excused Absence Check with a classmate Copy the homework Retrieve or ask for any handouts Sign the Absence sheet

Turning in Papers When asked, pass your paper to the front of the row. I will collect from each row. Or….turn your folder in to the drop box.

Classroom Discussions PLEASE participate. I want to hear what you have to say. Make all questions and comments relevant to the current discussion. If your question is off the topic, write it down and ask later.

Moving Around the Room Stay in your assigned seat. You must ask permission. Do not ask during a classroom discussion unless it is an emergency.

Cell Phones Outside the door I will post the color code that designates cell phone use for the day. Green means that we will be using our cell phones or iPad for research or dictionary.com, if you are on any other application you will receive an automatic zero Orange means we will not have our phones out for any reason. If you have your phone out on these days it is a automatic zero for class participation.

Class Dismissal The teacher dismisses you, not the bell. Do not start packing prior conclusion of class assignments. Wait until the teacher finishes and officially dismisses you.
