6 OUR CONTRIBUTION: THE MCBX 6

7 CIEMAT contribution to HL-LHC 7 CIEMAT is in charge of the MCBX nested corrector Conceptual design Prototype Manufacturing Prototype Test (in collaboration with CERN)

8 CIEMAT contribution to HL-LHC 8 Specifications of MCBX H&V: Combined Dipole: Square operation range in X-Y. Aperture = Ø150 mm Working Temperature= 1.9 K Integrated Field = 2.5 Tm Length ≅ 1.2 m Schedule: Mid 2014: Conceptual design. Early 2015: Design report and drawings. Early 2016: Completed prototype. Late 2016: Tests at 4.2K * Caution: The iron holes configuration that is shown at this presentation corresponds to the long version of the magnet.
