Using the TI-83+ Using Lists

Finding the lists  Once the calculator is on, press the STAT key. This key is located in the middle column under the DEL key.  You should see a menu come up that says EDIT, CALC, and TESTS across the top of the screen.  To get to the lists, press enter on the first option under the EDIT heading (or just press the number 1).

Setting up the lists  When you get to the lists, you should see L1, L2, and L3 across the top of the screen. But, what happens if you see something different?  Press the STAT key again.  Under the EDIT heading, go down to #5 (SetUpEditor) and press ENTER.  Press ENTER a second time so that the calculator says “Done.” Now go back to the lists and they will read L1, L2, L3.

Clearing data from a list quickly  Use the arrow keys to move from list to list. Find the list that you want to clear.  Cursor to the top of the list until the cursor is highlighting the list name (L1, for example).  Press the CLEAR key (located in the far right column under the arrow keys) and then the down arrow. DO NOT press the DEL key on this step or you will delete the entire list completely.

Entering data in lists  Begin by clearing the list that you want to put data into.  Move the cursor so that it is sitting on the dotted line in the list.  Type in the first number from your data in the list you chose and press enter.  Continue entering the remainder of your data in this manner until complete.  DONE!!
