Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over! CALLUM SMITH

Production Media/Delivery/Deadline In this production I will be using animation to make this production because it will bring the message across in a more appealing way and hopefully make people realize how dangerous it actually is. It will be an animation displaying a fatal accident where a driver has decided to drive when they are well over the limit and it has come to the worst possible thing to happen in life, and then hopefully the viewer will take notice that this advert is showing a really important message. The deadline is the 23 rd March.

Production Mindmaps I have made a mind map to list all of my ideas so I can choose the best one. by doing this you can see that my ideas vary so this means I have range of ideas I can choose from.

Production Concept/Style/USP My style will be stop-motion animation, I shall use Lego blocks/men this will reflect on children because they play with Lego and this will make the message even stronger and this will impact people wanting to drink and drive. It is unique because I shall be using stop motion and it is different because a lot of the infomercials use actors to create their scenes and productions, so using Lego people is a lot different.

Production Concept/Style/USP I shall use short film clips of a road so I don’t have to use loads of Lego to build a set. I can use a real world environment because it will make the message even stronger, so I can have the Lego man sat at a bar, then I can have a green screen and have the man get in his car and drive down the real road and it will make it easier than building a road. I can make it humorous by having the head of the person he runs over fly up into the air and rotate a few times but then I can say ‘real people cant get put back together’ and that would have a massive impact on viewers.

Production Audience My audience is 17+ because at 17 you are allowed to drive in the UK. During 2010, over 773,000 breath tests were carried out, which more than 83,000 drivers or riders (11% of those tested) failed or refused to take the test.3 Clearly, there is still much to do to prevent drink drive accidents, deaths and injuries. Also it could be aimed at 16 year olds because if they are wanting to start driving they would need to know that drinking and driving is strictly forbidden.

Production Equipment/Techniques  I will be using animation software to create my production.  iMac - £800  Photoshop - £400  Pencil + pen – 10p+  Lego  Camera - £850  Adobe Premier Pro

Production Resources/Budget  iMac  Camera  Pens + Paper  Photoshop  Adobe Premier Pro  Lego

Production Collaboration I will be working with Bradley Detton. He will be doing the audio and helping with the narration, he will also be drawing the backdrop to my scenes.

Production Constraints  Time will be my main constraint because animation will take a long time so I need to get all my planning done so I have all the other time to animate.  The use of the equipment will also play a big part because if I cant get to use a computer with the software on then it will set m back and I will be wasting time.  The surface may not be sturdy and Lego blocks may fall over and be out of place for the next shot.  I have not done stop motion before.
