Intentional Torts are those actions intended to cause injury or harm While the Criminal Code of Canada ensures that if someone is injured intentionally the law will be applied However in some cases were an individual was not the intended victim how is that to be addressed?

The difference between unintentional and intentional tort is the concept of intent Was the defendant’s actions designed to injure someone The intent may be physical in the case of hitting someone but it can be verbal as well Spreading untrue stories about someone causing them to loose something  A rumour spreads that Mr. R. is a drug dealer and he looses his job

4. Some crimes are criminal offences and the defendant can be charged with them In these cases the purpose of the Criminal Code of Canada is designed to achieve retribution For the same crimes an individual can be sued by the victim to receive restitution
