HOW DO MODELS EFFECT SOCIETY? Seeing women, like the ones below, everyday on television can make other women feel like less than perfect. Therefore causing poor self-esteem and hundreds of women with eating disorders.

Maura`s eating disorder began in the 8 th grade after her mother passed. It got so terrible, she could barely walk from damaging an important nerve just by crossing her legs. She says not only was she starving herself, she was starving feelings of depression and abandonment and worthlessness. TRUE STORY: MAURA KELLY

A FEW FACTS Most runway models meet the Body Mass Index physical criteria for anorexia. Ten years ago a plus size model averaged between a size 12 to 18, what is considered plus size today, would be between sizes 6 and 14.
