W ADE - 1971 Supreme Court Decision that legalizes Abortion in the United States Women have a constitutional right to privacy Says abortion can occur until the point of viability – when a fetus can survive outside the womb Sets off firestorm of debate that continues until today over rights of women and rights of the unborn
