2 EDAC/ OceanNOMADS What is it? NOMADS : NOAA National Weather Service Operational Model Archive and Distribution System – provides both real-time and archived atmospheric model output from servers at NCEP and NCDC respectively – http://nomads.ncep.noaa.gov/txt_descriptions/marRutledge-1.pdf http://nomads.ncep.noaa.gov/txt_descriptions/marRutledge-1.pdf Ecosystem Data Assembly Center (EDAC): NOAA NCDDC/NGI Developmental Data Portal for Ecosystem Related Data OceanNOMADS: NOAA NCDDC developmental ocean forecast system analog to archival portion of NOMADS (subset of EDAC) – OpenDAP enabled – Navy Operational Global NCOM nocast /forecast subsets archives currently being transferred to NCDDC operational servers

3 EDAC/ OceanNOMADS Task Progress NRL Inter-America Seas Nowcast/Forecast System over the Gulf of Mexico – 2004- present Pre-operational Navy AMSEAS – 25 June 2010 to present Operational Navy regional USEast ocean nowcast/forecast system – 17 Jan 2011 to present (Relevant to SURA Estuarine Hypoxia Effort) http://edac-dap3.northerngulfinstitute.org/thredds/catalog/ EDAC/OceanNOMADS developmental server now includes:
