2 WHAT IS A CHARACTER TRAIT?  Character traits are all the aspects of a person’s behavior and attitudes that make up that person’s personality. Everyone has character traits, both good and bad. Even characters in books have character traits. Character traits are often shown with descriptive adjectives, like patient, unfaithful, or jealous.

3 HOW DO YOU FIND CHARACTER TRAITS?  Read the text  Make a list of what the author or other characters say about another character.  Infer about what you think about this character  Make sure you have proof!

4 Tracy was tall. Even for kids two years older than her, she was tall. She had hands that could wrap themselves around a volley ball nearly all the way. And best of all, Tracy loved to play volleyball every Saturday instead of watching cartoons with her little brothers. 5 William loved books. He always had about three somewhere in his pockets or bag. He mostly read comic books with lots of scene in them. His hair was usually a mess, as he dressed quickly. William would stay up late at night reading his beloved science comic books. 6 The rain came down in sheets thick as lead. The storm was wild, dark, and crazy loud with thunder. It sounded like ten trains having a huge fight; lights flashing everywhere, like headlights from those fighting trains jumping all around.
