5 Why are the changes being made? - Current landscape is inconsistent when it comes to player development - US Soccer aims to develop players with more individual skills, intelligence and confidence How/Who does it affect at MFJ? - Teams with split birth years - Coaching staff assignments - All MFJ Family Who is required to follow the initiatives? - All of US Soccer membership is required by August 2017 - Michigan will adopt initiatives in August 2016

7 Why is birth year registration going into effect - Having players train and play according to their age and development level supports objectives of Small Sided Standards. Can my son/daughter play up? - Yes, but this will be a decision in which is made by Boys/Girls DOC, TD, ED Is my son/daughter still going to be able to play with his/her classmates? - Depends on variety of factors, majorly how the club is making teams - Playing on a team with friends cannot always be a reality, same as having friends in different classes at school - We at MFJ want to strive for the best possible placements and environments for all players

13 Directors Academy MSYSA Changes to Directors Academy - Will cover three Birth Years: 06, 05, 04 - 06 9V9 - 05 9V9 - 04 11V11 (Compete for MRL spot in State Cup)

14 - Alternative 1, U15 (birth year ’02) players that are in 8th grade, while some of their teammates are in high school, may train with a younger team during this 3-4 month period. - Alternative 2, U15 (birth year ’02) players that are freshmen in high school may choose not to play high school soccer during this season in order to stay with their club teams. - Alternative 3, U15 (birth year ’02) players that are in 8th grade, while some of their teammates are in high school, may play in a U15 (birth year ’02) non-competitive season of play (Boys in the fall and Girls in the spring) where clubs can ‘club-pass-card’ players from the age groups below to complete game day rosters (MSPSP 10 Game Season) MFJ Moving Forward
