The Alternative School Education for High School-Aged Students with Emotional Issues

Who Do We Teach? Students age 14 and up with emotional disturbances which prevent them from finding success in mainstream schooling.

Who are We Trying to Help? We provide an alternative learning environment for our students We aim to provide information and support for the parents or guardians of our students so that they can continue to support them at home We serve as a resource for mainstream schools who are having difficulty educating students with emotional disturbances We help prepare our students to become active and positive assets to their communities.

Special Services: What Sets Us Apart? Highly educated and qualified teachers with a background in psychology Group therapy sessions every day Mentors and individual therapists for each student Alternative, self-esteem building curriculums Enough outside funding and scholarship programs to ensure our students the educations they need Special opportunities for credit such as sports teams, work studies and individualized projects to encourage initiative, socialization and participation. An entirely credit based graduation plan that allows each student to work at their own pace without the pressures of passing to the next grade in any specific time span Counseling groups and information sessions for the parents of our students to keep them involved and on board Childcare and safe housing options Health center

The Administration Our administration would be a school board consisting of parents, special and regular education teachers, therapists, M.D.s and student representatives that all work together for the common good of our students.

Our Community Our school would be most successful in an area that provided access to a variety of settings from the city to the woods so that we can appeal to as many students interests and needs as possible while providing a safe and calming environment for their scholastic success.
