Data Collection and Field Observations February 9, 2011 Counted autos, pedestrians, bicyclists, buses 7:00 – 9:00 AM, 2:15 – 4:00 PM Observed directionality, parking behavior, traffic queuing, jaywalking, and unsafe maneuvers AM Peak Hour Observations Traffic queues extend back to shopping center Unsafe pedestrian movements Poorly regulated traffic flows – drop-off’s occur in travel lane PM Peak Hour Observations Traffic jams on-site Traffic queues from north end to Ramona Unsafe pedestrian movements Poorly regulated traffic flows

Development of Access/Circulation Alternatives Reduce congestion during peak periods Accommodate drop-offs and pick-ups on-site Accommodate more parking on-site Separate ingress and egress traffic flows Separate traffic flows to/from parking lot and to/from drop-off aisle Provide for safe, controlled pedestrian crossings on Pinole Valley Road Goals:
