3 The Personality Theory of Carl Jung Jung theorized 8 personality types based on two distinct attitudes: Introversion and Extroversion and Four Psychological Functions: Feeling, Thinking, Sensing & Intuition (1875-1961)

4 Attitude, according to Jung, is a person’s predisposition to behave in a particular way. There are 2 opposite attitudes: INTROVERSION EXTROVERSION

7 Pajak’s Teacher Styles Describe the ways we prefer to gather data and perceive our reality. STSFNTNF EQ: How could knowing each other’s preferred style impact our PLC work?

8 Two aspects of style: intuition (N) Knowing about something without conscious understanding of where that knowledge comes from sensing (S) The means by which a person knows something exists

9  Feeling (F) and  Thinking (T) Describe the ways we appraise or judge the reality we perceive.  Feeling- is the method by which a person understands the value of conscious activity  Thinking – is the method by which a person understands the meaning of things

15 What is your style preference?  Individually, take the “Clinical Dialect Preference Survey”  Using the scoring guide determine your communication preference and teacher style Four Corners Activity

16 Find the poster that represents your preference for one of the four psychological function pairs : STSFNTNF Write your name on the poster Discuss with the group your understanding of how your preference will impact supervision and your work in PLC – How will knowing each other’s style impact this work? As a group, agree upon and then draw a visual on your chart paper that represents your preference and supervision style Choose who will share
