A fairer price for third world products would help poor countries trade more equally with richer ones. Protectionism was considered harmful as it would damage world trade. © 2015 – WJEC / CBAC

Avoid waste of global resources and environmental damage. End the arms race and armaments production and change production to peaceful purposes. Peace-keeping role of the United Nations to be increased. Reform the IMF and World Bank to give more and easier credit terms to developing nations. Report by Socialist International Committee on Economic Policy 1985 (Michael Manley) was critical of US foreign and economic policy toward debt crisis and suggested other countries should proceed without US.
