Once you click the box, any linked resources will appear in the window to the right. For this example, I will plan a unit for Chapter 2, which is on linear equations. Notice that there is a unit to the right titled “CH 2-Linear Equations” To select this unit, drag the unit into the unit box. NOTE: Only instructional materials from the course you linked will appear here. If you have not linked a course to your planner yet, you can learn about how to do so in “Module #4-Selecting the Courses You Teach”

Once you drag and drop the unit, it will appear in blue under the “Unit” Box. Once a unit is linked to the lesson, all resources for that unit will now be available when planning. Clicking the blue unit link will open the materials available for that unit. Note: If there is no pacing guide in the system for your course, no lessons will appear here. In that case, you will enter this information

Here is an example of the materials available for the unit I am planning.

a b a.As with the Unit Box in the last step, clicking the check box in the top right of the Benchmark box will open related instructional materials to the right. b.To add a benchmark to your lesson, drag and drop that benchmark into the benchmark box. c.To see what the benchmark is, you can hover your mouse over the benchmark. c

Sometimes, there will not be any related materials for a unit. For example, this unit does not have any Essential Questions linked. In this case, a new window will open that you will be able to type into. It may be helpful to be able to copy and paste text into these boxes. If you would like to copy and past, you must use the following keyboard commands: Windows: “Control C” to copy and “Control V” to paste. Mac: “Command(aka apple) C” to copy and “Command(aka apple) V” to paste.

For some fields, boxes appear as shown here. You can click these boxes to add these to your lesson plan. If you are using an instructional format not listed, you can also click inside the box and type your own text.

Continue to scroll through the planner and complete your lesson plan. Once completed, click the submit the lesson at the bottom of the page. Once you submit a lesson, you will see a timestamp of when the plan was submitted. You WILL be able to edit the lesson when you click submit. Use this button to verify when the lesson was completed.
