Mission Adopted circa 2011 The Corporation (operating as “Run Ottawa”) is dedicated to promoting the sport of running and enhancing the health and well-being of our community through organizing distinctive world class and local races, and managing an active, membership based running club. Agreed-upon 2015 With the understanding that we were not intending to change the substance of the Mission statement, rather simply attempting to develop more concise wording, we unanimously agreed to adopt: Run Ottawa is dedicated to promoting the sport of running and enhancing the health and well-being of our community. In other words, “organizing distinctive world class and local races, and managing an active, membership-based running club” would implicitly remain elements of our Mission.

Vision Adopted 2012 More people running more often. (a) Ottawa Race Weekend is the best running experience in Canada. (b) The Run Ottawa Club is a vibrant and thriving running club. (c) Run Ottawa offers varied and affordable events for all seasons. (d) Run Ottawa promotes, supports and develops the sport of running. (e) Run Ottawa has a dynamic culture of empowered employees and respectful collaboration among employees and volunteers. Agreed-upon, 2015 More people running, more often. a)Ottawa Race Weekend is the best running experience in Canada b) The Run Ottawa Club is a vibrant and thriving running club. c) Run Ottawa is a leader in offering varied and affordable events for all seasons. d) Run Ottawa is a leader in promoting, supporting and developing the sport of running.

1. Sustain Ottawa Race Weekend Sustain the financial health of ORW Secure long-term sponsorship commitments for our key properties (ORW, Marathon, Half-Marathon, and 10K) Sponsorships worth at least $400K annually Maintain Gold Label status for the Marathon and 10K Sustain registration levels at or above 45,000 runners Sustain or improve the quality of runners’ experience Maintain our position as the best event in Canada Capitalize on 2017 to maximize number of participants Attract 10,000 runners for the 2017 Marathon Ottawa Race Weekend is the best running experience in Canada

2. Develop Run Ottawa’s Other Events Leverage our brands to provide a competitive advantage in the Ottawa market Continue building events throughout the National Capital region where the focus is on the runner and the running experience Develop our Tier 1 race events to maximize revenue opportunities Grow Tier 1 events to an aggregate 12,000 runners per year, by 2020 Develop an existing (or new) event into a “marquee” event (i.e., 5,000+ participants) by 2020 Exploit 2017 opportunities for events beyond ORW Grow free / low-cost events to attract 6,000 runners per year, by 2020 Develop and implement strategies for monetizing these events, whether directly or indirectly Run Ottawa is a leader in offering varied and affordable events for all seasons

3. Revitalize our Membership The Run Ottawa Club is a vibrant and thriving running club Develop and implement programs to revitalize the membership Achieve a high level of membership retention (i.e., low churn) A membership base of at least 500 runners, that is representative of the overall population of runners Develop a long-term strategy for Membership by the end of 2018

4. Ambassador for the sport of running Run Ottawa is a leader in promoting, supporting and developing the sport of running Maintain current programs to promote and support elite athletes ($500K in ORW) Including at least $xxxK for Canadian athletes (local and/or national) Maintain current efforts to support community athletic groups and events that complement ours Develop and implement strategies for attracting novice runners to our free / low-cost events Position Run Ottawa as the “Voice of Running” in the National Capital region Maintain or enhance our working relationship with our local municipal governments Seize opportunities to advocate running interests with federal or provincial governments Develop a strong media presence for running-related issues Develop a strategy for further promoting the sport of running by the end of 2016 Define the annual financial commitment Assess and select specific program(s)

5. Pursue Organizational Excellence Complete the development of the initial set of governance policies by January 2017 Complete a review of all financial processes (both operational and governance-related) by the 2016 AGM Develop and implement a risk management plan to address Run Ottawa’s vulnerability to sudden departures of key staff or key volunteers Develop a business plan with respect to Run Ottawa’s real estate (e.g., consideration of a central home for the organization’s offices) by the end of 2016
