F-O-I-L A method for Multiplying 2 Binomials
2
F-O-I-L FOIL stands for: First Outer Inner Last Find the product of each set of terms and add them up to find the product of the two binomials.
3
Example Let’s try it out: (x+4)(x+3)
4
Example Let’s try it out: (x+4)(x+3) First two termsx*x x 2
5
Example Let’s try it out: (x+4)(x+3) First two termsx*x Outer two termsx*3 x 2 +3x
6
Example Let’s try it out: (x+4)(x+3) First two termsx*x Outer two termsx*3 Inner two terms4*x x 2 +3x+4x
7
Example Let’s try it out: (x+4)(x+3) First two termsx*x Outer two termsx*3 Inner two terms4*x Last two terms4*3 x 2 +3x+4x+12
