2 The total number of clients does not include those indirectly served which was reported in previous years as part of the total (for the 2013-14 fiscal year, that would be an additional 16,000 clients) Due to the diversity of our programs, we gather data on 3 types of “clients”: Individuals, Families, and Child Care Providers (homes & centers). Demographic data is collected on individuals only. Data collection and reporting challenges exist due to the nature of certain programs. Age Range Data Issues - some programs tracked and reported different age ranges Gender Reporting – some programs did not track gender of the client served Discrepancies in Race vs. Ethnicity - some programs separated Ethnicity as Hispanic or Non-Hispanic while others included Hispanic as a race choice; this delineation is unclear to some clients who identify themselves as only Hispanic Data Maintenance and Reporting Issues – some programs were unable to access data maintained by funders or partners, most specifically the AzEIP program which provided estimates on client numbers this year, but was unable to access and report demographic data The Agency continues to work on consistency and reporting challenges in regards to utilization data within programs and across the agency. Notes and Challenges
