Christmas tree In Poland always is a Christmas tree. We decorate christmas tree with colorful balls, sweets and chains. In some houses tradiction is that they decorate it in the Christmas Eve.

Gifts The next tradiction are gifts. We buy it or make ourselves. It is the best tradiction for every child. We give presents in Christmas Eve. We put it next to christmas tree.

12 dishes Another tradiction are twelve dishes. It comes from 12 apostles. Dishes are for example: dumplings, borsch, carp, pasta with poppy seed, gingers.

The Christmas Eve It is the most important day in Christmas. We wait for the first star on heaven and when it shows we start our celebration. For first we read fragment of holy bible. Then we share with wafer. The next step is eating dishes. Finally we open our gifts and celebrate time with our family.

Carols We sing carols while we celebrate Christmas. There are lot of carols in Poland The best known are: Silent Night; Gdy Śliczna Panna( When Pretty Woman…); Bóg się rodzi( The God is borning) etc.

Santa claus Santa Claus come in Christmas Eve. In Poland we believe that Santa Claus gave us gifts. He come to Poland at sleigh with reeinder. Kids in Poland write a letter to Santa Claus.

Midnight Mass Midnight Mass is a traditionaly Mass in Poland. It start at 12 p.m. in Christmas Eve. We celebrate there that Jesus born at this time. It is very special for catholics.

Christmas play In some churches or schools kids prepare a play, which shows Jesus’s birth. Thera are a lot of characters (for example: Joseph, Marya, king Herod) and we sing carols.
