Microscope Rules The cost of the microscope: $350-$400 ALWAYS carry the microscope with 2 hands. Plug the cord into the table on your side. Always start on low power. Rules Continued… Focus from “bottom to top”. From low power to high power Always start with the coarse adjustment. Fine Adjustment: do not spin the fine adjustment (small knob). Microscope Rules continued… NEVER use coarse adjustment when you are on high power. Do Not touch a lens with your fingers. Use lens paper to clean lenses. When you put microscope away: Turn nose piece to low power lens. Turn off the light. Wrap cord around the bottom. NEVER use coarse adjustment when you are on high power.
