6. North Views The North was focused on city life and their industrial society. After the Louisiana Purchase, the North wanted the land to be made up of free states. They were for the abolition of slavery and tried to gain sympathy for their abolitionist movement.

7. South Views The south was very reliant on the cotton crop, therefore also dependent on slavery. After the United Stated gained land from the Louisiana Purchase, the south wanted that land to be slave territory. They were against the abolition of slavery and had strict consequences for slaves who tried to run away.
