Distinguish If you were their mom, would you be able to tell the difference between the twins? Because the twins are identical, it makes it nearly impossible to distinguish one from the other.

Summarize The short version of a story. Putting main ideas/important details into your own words. Presents only the most important ideas of a source. The back of a book is a summarization of the story.

Differentiate I can differentiate between the yellow umbrella and the black umbrellas because the yellow umbrella stands out from all the other umbrellas which makes it different.

what do these terms have in common? All of these terms can be used to interpret information and find the meaning of text. They can also be used as strategies when answering text questions and finding facts.
