A ratio is a comparison of two or more quantities in the same category. Example: A ratio of boys to girls or A ratio of apples to oranges A ratio of cars to trucks BACK

A ratio can be written three ways: 3:5 3/5 3 to 5 Either way, you read it as three to five BACK

Ratios are often expressed as fractions in simplest form or as a decimal. BACK

Order matters! What you say is what you write. If you say green to blue, you write green to blue: 12 to 8 What ratios can we form from the tiles above? 12 to 8 BACK

Mile per Gallon M.P.G. stands for miles per gallon and is usually used for gas mileage in cars. BACK
