3  U.S. – 18 yrs old. Before it’s 21.  Begins when become sexually mature and ends at the age of legal maturity (18 yrs. old). Boys mature later than girls.  There are two subdivisions of adolescence: -Early adolescence “teens” (begins at age 13 and ends at around 16 year old. -Late adolescence “youth” (17 – legal maturity (18)
