Journal As You Go

Keep a Journal As you're reading the book, keep a two-sided reading journal. The left side should have quotes from the book and page numbers. The right side should have your questions, thoughts, observations, revelations, etc.

For Example Write quotes from your book that you think seems important. Also include the page numbers. (This will make it easy on you later.) Your questions, thoughts, observations, revelations, etc.

Hunger Games Example 1. “Happy Hunger Games! And may the odds be ever in your favor!” (pg #) 2. “Katniss, the girl who was on fire!” (pg #) 3. “I want to do something, right here, right now, to shame them, to make them accountable, to show the Capitol that whatever they do or force us to do there is a part of every tribute they can't own. That Rue was more than a piece in their Games. And so am I.” (pg #) 1. Repeated at the beginning of every Hunger Games; almost a sick joke 2. SYMBOLISM! She is lighting a fire. She is giving people hope. 3. Katniss takes a stand. You go girl! 4. I’m not sure who I would choose Peeta or Gale.... Poor Katniss.

Requirements Must be legible or typed Should have at minimum 30 quotes and explanations, thoughts, questions, etc. Must number each entry. Put some effort into it. (You are going to use this later.)
