Romulus, Rome and the Sabines The Story so far- Rome had grown into a powerful local force under Romulus. Neighbouring communities were wary of the growing power. Rome didn’t have enough women to sustain it’s population Romans couldn’t marry into neighbouring tribes as they had been fighting them!
