GUASEEAW: 2nd Co-ordination Meeting 20120703 GUASEEAW: 2nd Co-ordination Meeting 20120703 State of Art 1/2 Along the first phase of GuaSEEAW project (Work Planning), consortium visited multiple organisms related with the involved action: 1.MAGRAMA (Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment) 2.INE (National Statistics Institute) 3.Botín Foundation (Science and Rural Development Areas) 4.WWF Adena: Water and Agriculture Area 5.CHG: Guadiana Basin Authority 6.CHD: Duero Basin Authority

GUASEEAW: 2nd Co-ordination Meeting 20120703 GUASEEAW: 2nd Co-ordination Meeting 20120703 State of Art 2/2 Conclusions: 1.Every body knows the existence of SEEAW and ECRINS. 2.Nobody knows how to implemented. 3.GuaSEEAW project has been well received in order to solve the scarcity of knowledge and the possibility of a future implementation at organism like CHG or CHD.

SIMPA “Integrated System for Rainfall-Runoff Modelling” - Sistema Integrado de Modelización Precipitación-Aportación, includes several hydrological tools developed in the Centre for Hydrographic Studies of CEDEX (MAGRAMA). It was designed to analyze spatial and temporal hydrological variables and to simulate hydrological processes based on them. Models cope with water resources, flood events or quality assessment. Data on monthly precipitation and temperature in the weather stations and data on historical flows at the contrast points. SIMPA uses raster layers with a cell size of 1km x 1km.

GUASEEAW: 2nd Co-ordination Meeting 20120703 GUASEEAW: 2nd Co-ordination Meeting 20120703 A management simulation model for basins or complex water resources systems that contain surface and underground elements for regulation and storage, intake, transport, consumption/use and artificial recharge. Simulation is performed on a monthly scale and reproduces water flow through the system. AQUATOOL program provides the possibility to export data to an Access format file. AQUATOOL

Detail the characteristics of Hydrographical Demarcation of a basin. Explaining the importance of present themes, evaluating water status, and proponing necessary measures to get the objective of “good status” for water bodies. The three main objectives are: To get the “good status” of water and to protect of Hydrological Public Domain. Attend the water demands. Attend the water demands. Get an equilibrium between population growth, economical development and resources protection in harmony with environment and others natural resources.
