Services Selective Service Act aka Burke-Wadsworth Act, enacted September 16, 1940, was the first peacetime draft in US history. This Selective Service Act required that men between the ages of 21 and 35 register with local draft boards. Later, when the U.S. entered WWII, all men aged 18 to 45 were made subject to military service, and all men aged 18 to 65 were required to register

Neutrality acts- 1935, 1936, 1937 and 1939… All of these acts were created in order to keep the US out of the conflicts that were happening in Europe. The US placed embargo acts on arms and resources Promoted isolationism

Federal Law passed 9066 Feb. 19 th 1942 110,000 Japanese-Americans were taken to interment camps 1/3 were foreign born 2/3 were American born 10 Different locations for camps In 7 different states Were told to get packed and go Conditions unfair and dehumanizing Still they remained loyal to the US One of the highest decorated and honored unit of WWII is an all Japanese volunteer unit Overall 17,600 Japanese- Americans would fight in WWII
