Now that I have established who my target audience are it is useful,as part of my secondary audience to research media habits of teenagers; this helps me build a profile for my target audience and establish the most effective ways of appealing to my consumer market. MEDIA HABITS OF TEENAGERS Media has become an integral part of teenagers lives which comes in a variety of forms from newspapers to social media sites. Teenagers consume media for a variety of reasons, including: Accessing news Making friends Doing school work Keeping up to date with the latest music/tv trends - 35% of teenagers watch 3+ hours of TV a day; this is important as one of the main places music videos are shared is on music tv channels

MEDIA HABITS OF TEENAGERS 55% of teenagers have online social profiles and 65% of teenagers use social networking websites - this is one way of effectively reaching out to the target audience online through promoting the artist and music over 70% of teenagers use the internet to download music files. iTunes was the most used application by teenagers with over 40% using it and furthermore over 30% of teenagers visited Youtube in the period of a month
