2. What is Governor’s Honors? The Georgia Governor's Honors Program (GHP) is a four-week, summer residential program designed to provide intellectually gifted and artistically talented high school students challenging and enriching educational opportunities. The program offers instruction that is significantly different from the typical high school classroom, and that is designed to provide students with academic, cultural, and social enrichment necessary to become the next generation of global critical thinkers, innovators, and leaders. The Georgia Governor's Honors Program is fully funded by the Georgia General Assembly and operates at no cost to participants. High school sophomores and juniors in public, private, and home schools are eligible for nomination in one of twelve areas.

3. How was my child nominated? Cherokee High School teachers were asked to nominate their best and brightest in certain nomination areas.

5. What is the commitment? The student will be working to achieve the maximum prize for the Governor’s Honors Program… an invitation to a free, 4 week camp at Valdosta State to further explore their nomination area. Camp Dates this year: TBA

7. What do I do now? Each nominee MUST complete a school based application by Oct 6. These applications must be turned in via Google Docs to Mrs. Jones. The link will be emailed, sent in Remind and posted to my website. The school based application should be completed using the live document on Mrs. Jones website.
