1. Hi, AP Lang! You need: Pencil/pen Journal Adventure notes Journal (4/10/15): During Spring Break Indiana passed a state law that caused much controversy. Let’s take a look at the law and whether or not it needs to be clarified.

2. Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) Federal Law Ensures that religious freedoms are protected. Passed in 1993 (to serve protection to the Native American community and the land they consider sacred). Prohibits Congress from passing laws that prohibit free exercise of religion. (However, an exception is in place that prohibits religiously mandatory activities for the general public… more info) Indiana Law Protects business owners who do not want to provide services for customers who violate their religious beliefs. Allows businesses to determine to whom they will and will not provide service. Protected at a state (local) level; representative of state population.
