2. What is a public holiday? A public holiday (also known as a statutory or stat holiday) is any holiday that is recognized at the federal, provincial or territorial level. Currently in Saskatchewan we have 10 statutory holidays per year.

5. Does your pay change if you work a stat? 5% 3/52x your normal hourly wage 1.5x your normal wage Time and a Half or Premium Pay. Yes. EVERYONE is paid what is called “holiday pay” which is about 5% of your normal wage or 3/52x your normal hourly wage every year. If you choose to work a stat holiday, you earn 1.5x your normal wage, which is also called Time and a Half or Premium Pay.

6. When am I entitled to “Premium Pay”? four months You are entitled to Stat pay as soon as you’ve worked for a company more than four months, or after you’ve gotten through the probationary period.
