Flexibility - the ability to move a body part through a full range of motion -Helps prevent injury -Releases build up of lactic acid - Examples:

- Anaerobic – muscles don’t use oxygen, instead they use glycogen - Exercise lasts a short amount of time -Heavy weights = building muscle -To gain strength add resistance - Examples…. Muscular Strength - how much you can lift, push, or pull

Muscular Endurance : how long you can lift, push, pull or hold - To gain endurance add more time, distance, and repetitions. -Light weights = lean muscles Examples:

Aerobic/cardiovascular : continuous movement within the target heart rate that allows muscles to use oxygen to create power (20 minutes or more burns fat; 10 minutes or more works heart muscle) Examples:

Wellness: A state of being that enables you to reach your fullest potential. Wellness includes intellectual, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual aspects.

Agility- ability to change position of body quickly and control your body’s movements.

Balance – ability to keep an upright posture while standing or moving.

Coordination - ability to use your senses together with your body parts or to use two or more body parts together.

Power – ability to use strength quickly. It involves both strength and speed.

Reaction Time – the amount of time it takes to move once you realize the need to act.

Speed – ability to perform a movement or cover a distance in a short period of time.
