M AJOR P ROBLEMS & N EED OF I NTERVENTIONS IN M AHOBA D ISTRICT The major problems in Mahoba District reflected in the Human Development and Gender Development Indices are-: Lack of drinking water accessibility Negative impacts on livestock population. Extreme shortage of water, this is an addition to the loss of agriculture, the major source of livelihood. It has bearing on the health of the people i.e. causing malnutrition, diarrhea etc. Disturbed the socio-economic fabric results in large scale migration of people. Depletion in ground water table due to over dependence for domestic, industrial and irrigation purpose.

WHAT ELSE IS NEEDED ? Tar fencing in the project area. For recharging of wells, 20 check-dams is needed. 30 diesel pumps for irrigation purpose. 50 dug-wells for irrigation purpose. 2 drinking water supply schemes in village Moryana & Kuinya.
