4. WHO HEADS THE CHOSEN DEPARTMENT? Frank L. Perry is the secretary of the Department of Public Safety. Previously was the commissioner of the Division of Law Enforcement where he oversaw the operations of Emergency Management, State Highway patrol, Alcohol Law Enforcement and State Capitol Police Served as director of Investigations and Public Affairs for the Foundation for Ethnics in Public Service Also served 22 years with the FBI as a special agent Served as director of Investigations for the N.C Office of the State Auditor Is an extension assistant professor at North Carolina State University in the School of Public and International Affairs Holds a doctorate in ethics and political philosophy

6. How does chosen department impact your life personally? The department of Public Safety impacts my life daily. The detectives investigate the crimes and provide information about the perpetrator. The police catch the bad guys and bring them in. The correctional officers enforce the rules and supervise the activities of the inmates, making sure they serve their time. Those working within the Department try their best to keep the peace in the public. Making sure that the people are safe from dangerous criminals, crazy drivers, or even the crazy cat lady down the street who’s absolutely sure that a zombie apocalypse is to come. Their job is to keep the community safe and make sure that the people feel safe.

7. HOW ARE THE US CONSTITUTION AND OHIO CONSTITUTION BOTH SIMILAR AND DIFFERENT? Similar- Lay out laws that govern the people Subject to amendments by Legislature Can be Ruled by Judicial Body Devoted to God and the common welfare of the people Fifth amendment deals with trial by jury Different- U.S constitutions overrules Ohio constitution Ohio Constitution must adhere to U.S constitution, it does not work the same the other way around US- First amendment calls for freedom of speech, press, etc. Ohio- First amendment calls for right to freedom and protection of property US- next three amendments continue about the military Ohio- next three amendments talk about the right to reform, alter or abolish government, the right to assembly and the right to bear arms.
