1 CAPTION WRITING The best way to write captions

2 NEWSPAPER CAPTIONS  These are not formatted like yearbook captions  Tell the story of the picture  Name ALL of the people OR the MAIN FOCUS of the image  Tell people about the event taking place

3 YEARBOOK CAPTIONS  These ALWAYS have three sentences.  The first sentence is one action word. (ex. Break)  The second sentence describes the picture in present tense and starts with an -ing. (ex. Leaving the huddle, the team gets ready to take the field.  The last sentence includes extra information. (ex. Every player on the team has played since freshman year)

4 ONLINE CAPTIONS  Online captions are very similar to news captions.  They are always at least three sentences and need to tell a story of what is going on in the photo.
