Types of training activities Training centres: make use of established educational institutions to extend training to cover business practice through collaboration with FIDIC and its Member Associations (examples: China, Korea, Australia) Training Programmes: a broader range of topics covered and a more flexible organisation (example: Young Professionals) In-house: tailored for specific needs (mainly firms)

4. Organisation FIDIC generally works in partnership with other organisations, usually one or two for a given activity and rarely more than three. Member Associations International Agencies Organisations and financing institutions Commericial suppliers of training events

Content The content for FIDIC’s training activities is based on the FIDIC Guide to Practice training kit modules: financial management; firm management; business development; preparing for the future and resources for contracts-related training: procurement and tendering; contracts and dispute resolution.

6. Content Business practice principles: a broad coverage of business practice principles followed by the in- depth treatment of specific topics. Industry capacity development: the main business practice and contracts-related requirements are presented, followed by a more detailed treatment of key topics. Then follows discussion to formulate a capacity building plan.
