Higher / Int.2 Philosophy 12 Homework NAB Summary Where you are asked to pick out premises and conclusions, be precise with your copying out – use the wording from the argument, not your interpretation of them. Remember a conclusion is a statement as well! Where you are asked to describe the difference between, make sure you use link words between sentences (i.e. a statement is a proposition that may be true or false whereas an argument is a series of statements so connected as to lead to a conclusion. Remember to include an extra sentence (regarding premises and conclusions or questions and imperatives) when answering an argument question. There is a difference between what is the conclusion and what is a conclusion. Answering questions about Sound arguments should result in you also saying what an unsound argument is….

Higher / Int.2 Philosophy 12 Homework NAB Summary When discussing the difference between deductive and inductive arguments, make sure you give the correct definition with a link word. If the question says ‘using your own examples’ then you will need to do so!! There is almost always either a fallacy or logical fallacy question in a Critical Thinking NAB. Miss it and miss out!
